Course Overview
The Basic Emergency First Aid Responder course equips participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to respond confidently and effectively in workplace emergencies. The course covers first aid treatment for a wide range of critical situations, including cardiac arrest, choking, shock, seizures, heart attacks, stroke, asthma, and traumatic injuries such as chest, head, abdominal, and spinal injuries.
Designed for workplace First Aiders, Health & Safety Team members, and Health & Safety Officers, this course uses a blend of theoretical and practical instruction to equip your team to provide lifesaving first aid treatment while waiting for professional medical help to arrive.
According to South Africa’s Occupational Health and Safety Act, any business that employs more than 10 people is required to appoint a trained First Aider in the workplace. The Basic Emergency First Aid Responder programme is accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) and the Department of Employment and Labour (DoEL) and meets legal compliance requirements.

Course Information
| Duration | Three days: Training is conducted over two days (including theoretical and practical elements) and the Final Integrated Supervised Assessment (FISA) is conducted on the third day. |
