The Occupational Health & Safety Act
The OHS Act 85 of 1993 requires employers and employees to take all necessary measures to establish a safe and healthy workplace. It also mandates that the CEO, management, supervisors, OHS representatives, and other employees understand their respective health and safety obligations in the work environment.
Course Overview
Non-compliance with the OHS act can result in serious consequences, including fines, imprisonment, or both in extreme cases. To ensure a safer workplace for everyone, it is important to educate and train employees on this vital piece of legislation.
Although the one-day course provides an overview of the OHS act, further training or self-study may be required to gain a complete understanding of the act’s complexities.
