The Advanced Fire Fighting course is a comprehensive training program designed to prepare fire wardens for workplace fire emergencies. It covers topics such as the Fire Tetrahedron, common causes of fires, fire prevention techniques, fire detection and methods of extinguishing fires through theoretical and practical components. The course also covers first aid techniques, emergency patient carry methods, fire risk assessment, and fire investigation and scene preservation. The aim of the course is to equip fire wardens with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively respond to and prevent workplace fires while ensuring their own safety.

Course Information

Duration

The Advanced Firefighting course is 2 days.

Cost

The cost of the course is R1.750.00 (exclusive of PPE and venue hire) exclusive of VAT.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the 2-day course, delegates will be awarded a certificate that is valid for a period of 2 years.

Venue

Training can be held on-premises at your organisation with a minimum of 8 attendees, or at one of our designated training centres located in Johannesburg North, Durban, Port Elizabeth, or Cape Town.

Course Content and Modules

The Advanced Fire Fighting course consists of a combination of theoretical and practical components to adequately prepare a fire warden for workplace fires. The practical component also includes:

  • Fire extinguisher operation and the extinguishment of a fire
  • The correct use of a hose reel and the extinguishment of a fire
  • Fire hydrant operations and hand signals
  • Fire hydrant hose drills and the extinguishment of a fire
  • Smoke house (site dependent)
