Course Overview
The Advanced Firefighting course is an intensive 2-day training programme built for organisations that operate in higher-risk environments and need their fire wardens properly equipped to handle workplace fire emergencies. Through a blend of theory and hands-on practical training, delegates will gain a thorough understanding of fire behaviour, prevention, detection, and suppression – including the operation of advanced firefighting equipment such as hose reels, fire hydrants, and fire hoses.
The programme also covers critical supporting skills including first aid for burns, emergency patient carry methods, fire risk assessment, and fire investigation techniques, ensuring fire wardens are prepared for the full scope of a workplace fire emergency.
Please note that this course is designed for appointed workplace Fire Wardens in corporate and industrial settings. Completion of this course does not qualify delegates as professional firefighters.

The course combines classroom-based learning with extensive practical exercises to ensure delegates can confidently apply their training in a real workplace emergency. The practical component includes:
- Fire extinguisher operation and the extinguishment of a fire
- The correct use of a hose reel and the extinguishment of a fire
- Fire hydrant operations and hand signals
- Fire hydrant hose drills and the extinguishment of a fire
- Smoke house (site dependent)
